HOW THE LEFT USES FEAR AND DECEPTION

 TO ADVANCE DICTATORSHIP

A Look At Some Facts by

Evil men and seducers will grow worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived (2Timothy 3:13).

There are many issues that are being used by the left to advance its agenda, and the goal of the left is always more laws and regulations, and less individual freedom. Take the right to keep and bear arms for example. In a free country, the government does not give the people the right to keep and bear arms, the people have that right because they are free. It is the people who give the government permission to keep and bear arms in their defense. In contrast, every dictatorship wants to disarm the people, because they want to control and dominate the people, not serve them.

Currently, concern for the environment is being used by the left to promote their agenda, and the purpose of this essay is to take a common-sense look at what is being said about carbon dioxide.

Some years ago there was a lot of talk about toxic emissions, and the dangerous chemicals being released into the atmosphere by internal combustions engines. However, you may have noticed that all of that talk seems to have been replaced by concern over carbon dioxide as a green-house gas. Some explain that change by claiming that the big oil companies bought off the environmentalists, but I have no way of knowing if that is true, or even partly true. What I want to address are some facts about carbon dioxide that are being ignored.

The Carbon Cycle

First of all, all life on earth depends on carbon dioxide! If you have had even high school level biology, you should know about the carbon cycle. In short, plants, through the process of photosynthesis combine the carbon from carbon dioxide with hydrogen from water to form hydrocarbons in the form of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Then, as some animals eat those plants (or other animals that have eaten them) those hydrocarbons are incorporated into the animal tissues, making growth possible. Then, after a plant or animal dies, the process of decay releases that carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere, where the cycle begins again as that carbon dioxide is absorbed by plants.

Once this is understood, you need to realize that even though all life depends on carbon dioxide there is almost no carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. I am sure that someone could cite the number of cubic feet of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and to the average person that would seem like a lot. But what you need to realize is that carbon dioxide makes up only between three and four one-hundredths of one percent of our atmosphere. There is more argon in our atmosphere than carbon dioxide! And, that raises one important question. What has happened to all of the carbon dioxide?

Well the answer to that question is simple. The plants have absorbed almost all of the carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. At present, they are starved for carbon dioxide. Experiments in which plants are grown in a carbon dioxide rich atmosphere reveal that if there was more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere plants would grow faster and larger, producing higher yields and bigger crops. That means that if the amount of carbon dioxide increases, it will not take long for the plants to absorb much of it.

Greening the Deserts

Another overlooked fact is that plants absorb carbon dioxide through pores in their leaves. When the amount of available carbon dioxide is low, they have to open more pores in order to get enough. However, opening more pores allows more water to escape, and as a result the plants need more water to survive. In short, if they had more carbon dioxide they would need less water, and could survive in places that are presently too arid to support much plant life.

The Fossil Record

Because all of the so-called fossil fuels that we find in the earth are the remains of plants that were buried by the flood, all of the carbon that they contain originally came from the atmosphere. That means that before the flood the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere would have been higher. And, that is why all evidence points to the fact that the world was full of vegetation at that time. The plants grew much bigger, and everything was very lush. In short the environment was more favorable to life then than it is now, and God created the world with a carbon dioxide rich atmosphere.

How the Atmosphere is Being Depleted

Another factor that needs to be considered is that almost every building in the world contains wood. And as the population grows more and more buildings are needed. I my area buildings are going up everywhere. And, all of the wood used in those buildings, that would otherwise decay and release its carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere, is being removed from the carbon cycle (perhaps for centuries) thus further depleting our atmosphere of carbon dioxide. In order to feed a growing population, that carbon dioxide needs to be replaced.

Conclusion

I know of one scientist who believes in “global warming” yet lost her job because she dared to say that the little bit of warming taking place is nothing to worry about. That raises a question. Why do leftists become infuriated whenever anyone disagrees with them? Personally, I believe that they react that way because one aspect of the satanic mentality is the desire to control, dominate and manipulate other people. There is no room in their worldview for any idea that would stand in the way of their drive to world despotism. And they are not about to tolerate any opinion that gets in their way. That is why they are continually pushing for legislation aimed at forcing their views on others, And, that is why they see more laws (each of which takes away some freedom) as the solution to every problem.

Let us always remember that those who will not be governed by God will be governed by tyrants.
